Blues: Sleeper team in the West?
By ANDREW ALLSMAN
ALHAMBRA, IL-- Kevin Allen recently wrote an article in USA Today that stated the Blues are his choice for "the team that is probably better than we think".
He goes on to compare them to the Tampa Bay Lightning this past season. In my opinion that is a heck of a comparison, because we all are aware of how good the Lightning were last season.
The Blues no doubt improved their team from last season by adding veteran players, and increasing the depth of their organization, but this is the reason I DONT see the Blues as a Sleeper team.
Everyone in the league is aware of how hard the Blues work night in, and night out, how good they were before injuries last year, and teams are also aware that playing against the Blues is a hard thing to do (plus the team has improved).
Conclusion: I think everyone is expecting great things out of the Blues and are not going to be surprised if the Blues make the playoffs, which is why I think the Blues being called a sleeper team is surprising.
