Crombeen was doing some conditioning work, but hasn't yet been cleared to practice according to Andy Strickland, but it was nice to see him join the team in practice regardless.
Crombeen has yet to play in a regular season game with the Blues as he was injured in a pre-season game earlier this year. Crombeen has a fractured shoulder, and isn't expected back until at least late December, but this is a big step in his recovery.
It will take some time for Crombeen to overcome the soreness and to adapt to the game once again, but when he does make his return, it should help solidify the Blues' roster.
Assuming all goes as planned, Perron will be back before Crombeen meaning players will have to be sent down to Peoria.
Crombeen brings with him physicality, and he has an ability to score, making the Blues 4th line that much more powerful.
Blue Notes
- According to Lou Korac, Hitchcock has confirmed Elliot will start tomorrow against the Blue Jackets who look to be turning their season around.
- No matter what happens says Hitchcock, Halak will start in Washington on Tuesday
- Vladimir Sobotka will not make the trip to Columbus. He has a slight fracture in his upper gum after taking a puck in the face on Friday. The plan is (according to Jeremy Rutherford) is for Sobotka to meet the team in Washington on Tuesday.
- No new news on Colaiacovo according to Lou Korac. Fairchild was sent back down to Peoria so team is planning on traveling with 6 defensemen and then deciding if they need to call someone back up.
- With the shutout on Friday Elliot is now 9-1-0 with a .951 sv%, a 1.34 GAA (both league best), and 3 shutouts
