Minority owner Tom Stillman now has opportunity to purchase team
The NHL announced today that due to his failure to meet the December 31st deadline set by league, Hulsizer's purchase agreement is terminated.
Now minority owner Tom Stillman gets his chance to reach an agreement with Checketts, and with Hulsizer out of the picture for the time being I wouldnt think Checketts would have much of a choice except to accept anything close to what he wants.
Tom Stillman does in fact inherit the purchase agreement from Hulsizer and can now just focus on presenting the funds to buy the team.
Checkett's would have benefited more from selling the team to Hulsizer (as explained here) and he's not believed to benefit in any way other than the sale of the team if Stillman does in fact take over as owner.
Members of Stillman's group include the Taylor family (Enterprise rent-a-car), other local investors and possibly Brett Hull according to stltoday.com.
According to Andy Strickland Hulsizer remains interested in the Blues in the event that Stillman is unable to reach an agreement.
Will update post as more info is brought to light.....
