McDonald practiced Monday without the red jersey
Over the All Star weekend the Blues did not hold organized practices and so injury updates had to wait until Monday's practice.
When the players took the ice, it looked a little bit different than Blues fans are used to, as there were no red jerseys signifying an injured player.
Andy McDonald practiced with the team Monday without the "no-contact" red jersey after missing the last 46 games.
McDonald was injured in the third game of the season when he was hit by both a Dallas Stars' player and teammate David Backes.
McDonald is not completely symptom free according to Jeremy Rutherford of the P-D but he has been going longer stretches of time without symptoms. No timetable has been set for McDonald's return to the lineup but as long as he experiences no side effects, 2 weeks would be a good guess as to when he could be ready.
He is expected to return to a top 6 forward role, but more on that when it is announced he will return to the lineup.
Other Notes:
- Defenseman Kent Huskins skated as well Monday and he is progressing nicely according to reports
- Chris Porter has been recalled from Peoria
- Scott Nichol left the rink today for a family emergency according to Lou Korac
- Alex Steen remains Day to Day and isn't quite ready to return to action
