The Blues have extended Ryan Reaves' contract for 2 more years

The Blues announced today that they have signed the 6'1" 220 pound forward to a 2 year extension that is valued at $1.2 million (600k per season).  The contract is a one-way contract.

Reaves has played 4th line minutes this season, but that doesn't mean he hasn't impacted the game.

The 4th line has been key in the majority of the games this season, as they are used as an "energy line" and often change the momentum of the game at vital times.

Reaves has 48 PIM this season with the Blues as he has stepped up into the enforcer role that was left empty with the departure of Cam Janssen this off-season.

It appears that the Blues and Reaves started working on a deal around New Years and obviously they agreed fairly quickly on a contract that pleased both sides.

The Blues feel that Reaves has played very well this year and has worked hard enough to deserve a new contract, and I cant argue with that as Reaves has seemed to contribute more offensively this year (though his lack of points would suggest otherwise).

This was a good move by the Blues and hopefully Reaves and the 4th line will continue to impact the Blues positively as they embark on their playoff journey.
